Angela Metcalfe
Chief Executive Officer
Angela comes to HAE UK from both a commercial business background and working together with CEO and Director level within an autism charity, as well as for a Charitable Foundation. She understands the frustrations that can exist with accessibility to support, especially around medical needs and mental health. Her main focus will be to raise awareness of HAE, to help develop better sharing of information about the illness within the UK Rare Diseases Framework that is currently under development, and to grow the training programmes in place throughout the NHS.
Rachel Annals
Executive Officer
Rachel is a HAE patient and was diagnosed at the age of 15 after suffering frequent attacks from the age of 18 months.
After meeting Ann Price and John Price at the inaugural HAE UK patient day in London in 2010, she started to work alongside Ann, supporting patients with HAE and growing the charity which now has over 700 members.Rachel manages the patient database, website and social media groups, supports patients and HAE UK projects, and organises and manages our HAE UK annual patient days. She is proud of how the charity has grown over the last eleven years and the support all of our members give to each other.
Volunteers
Furkhanda Haxton
Furkhanda is an administrator of our Facebook group. She has also been volunteering at our annual patient days since 2012, acting as support to Rachel with the running of the day.
June Cole
June is an HAE patient and is passionate about educating and raising awareness of HAE from a patient’s perspective amongst A&E staff and GP Practices.June is retired, having worked for a pharmaceutical company in research, and enjoys singing.
Rose Joseph
Rose sits on the fundraising committee for HAE UK and has taken part in fundraising events to support the organisation in the past. She is also a trustee of HAE UK.
